The Molecular Cancer Research Center (MKFZ) of the Charité (Director: Prof. Dr. med. Clemens A. Schmitt) and the Medical Department for Hematology and Oncology (Director: Prof. Dr. med. Bernd Dörken) of the Charité currently announce positions for Research fellow (resident physician) in the field of Hematology/Oncology including research in the experimental biomedical field. The positions are full-time and will be paid equivalent to the regulations of the civil service collective wage agreement (Tarifvertrag Ärzte/TV-Ä) for resident physicians. We offer a challenging work environment in clinical and scientific tasks in our department as well as a comprehensive continuing education in the field of hematology/oncology with timely specialization training and an option to pursue own research projects. The Medical Department for Hematology and Oncology of the Charité is among the top departments in its field in Germany. It belongs to the CharitéCenter 14 for Tumor Medicine (CC14) which unites radiation therapy, transfusion medicine and hematology/oncology as well as to the Charité Comprehensive Cancer Centre (CCCC). Furthermore, the department is engaged in certified interdisciplinary centers and working groups (e.g. hepatobiliary tumors) and cooperates closely with excellent university-based research institutions such as the Charité’s Molecular Cancer Research Center (MKFZ) and the Charité-led and excellence initiative-funded graduate school Berlin School of Integrative Oncology (BSIO). The department participates in the “Clinical Scientist” program allowing physicians to pursue a dual career in clinical work and research. The department’s constant exchange with other international centers allows a constant development and application of studies on specific diagnostic and therapeutic questions. Application requirements: - Graduation from medical school (with a degree marked very good or good)
- High Interest and commitment in all clinical and scientific tasks
- Practical experience in Internal Medicine, especially in Hematology/Oncology, are beneficial
- A completed medical thesis is desirable
- Practical experience in experimental research are expected
- a very good command of German and English, further language skills are beneficial
