The Gene Regulation Lab at the IDIBAPS Institute (Barcelona) is seeking a postdoc to work in the area of “Regulation of Gene Expression during Cell Differentiation and Cancer”. The group investigates the role of transcription factors ZEB1 and ZEB2 in the initiation and progression of carcinomas and hematological malignancies as well as during muscle differentiation The successful candidate will develop a research project using a wide array of in vitro and in vivo models as well as participate in other projects currently under way in the group. REQUIREMENTS ★ PhD degree in Biology, Bio- technology or related bio- medical discipline obtained not earlier than June 2009. ★ Strong publication record with at least 2-3 first-author articles in high impact journals ★ Strong background in Molecular and Cellular Biology. ★ Experience in molecular oncology (carcinomas and/or leukemias/lymphomas) or muscle biology would be a definite advantage. ★ Experience in regulation of gene expression, transcriptional regulation, etc. would be a definite advantage. CONDITIONS The selected candidate will be presented to a competitive call for postdoctoral contracts from the European Union and the Spanish and Catalan governments. If the candidate has a strong CV he/she would be contracted in the interim until the fellowship becomes effective.
