Given that the number of applications will exceed the capacity of the fund, it is expected that most recipients will be from developing nations. Preference will be given to young geneticists, mainly junior faculty, postdocs and senior graduate students.
Grants offered may cover round trip economy air travel to Melbourne, accommodation in Melbourne, registration for the Congress and an allowance of $50(AUS) per day for a maximum of one week.
