SpeakersDr. David Garlick, Senior Pathologist, StageBioDr. Garlick’s wide-ranging anatomic pathology experience in preclinical discovery and development of therapeutics and medical devices spans over three decades. He has extensive experience with the evaluation of biomaterials, medical device efficacy and biocompatibility (orthopedic, cardiovascular, ocular, neurologic), wound healing studies (assessment of polymers, living skin equivalents, cell-based therapies, scaffolds, microspheres, hydrogels), and the histopathology of minipigs. Dr. Garlick earned his DVM from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1985 and completed his pathology residency training at Tufts in 1989. He became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists in 1990. Message PresenterDr. Laura Elcock, Senior Pathologist, StageBioDr. Elcock has more than 30 years of experience as a toxicologic veterinary pathologist, serving as the primary study pathologist for over 500 GLP preclinical studies in the pharmaceutical and agricultural industries. She has a particular interest in reproductive pathology and has evaluated more than 15 peer-reviewed carcinogenicity studies in a variety of mouse and rat strains. Dr. Elcock earned her DVM in 1982, as well as her MS and PhD in Veterinary Pathology in 1983 and 1985, respectively, all from Kansas State University. She became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists in 1987. Message PresenterSam Jeffrey, Vice President, General Histology and Archiving Services, StageBioSam has more than 14 years of experience working in biological specimen storage and in the preclinical research industry. As Chief of Staff for StageBio, he will oversee vision, culture and leadership development. Sam is well-versed in industry best practices and regulations for specimen retention and environmental controls. He was also a founder and owner of HSRL Archives, LLC from 2005 to 2019. Sam received his BS from James Madison University.
