CHI's X-GEN Congress & Expo

  December 19, 2012

Hilton San Diego Resort, 1775 East Mission Bay Drive, San Diego, CA 92109
March 18-21, 2013

NGS has enabled faster and cheaper mapping of DNA/RNA, allowing genomic comparisons and accelerating genomic discoveries. Cambridge Healthtech Institute is proud to host the Fourth Annual X-Gen Congress and Expo, which is uniquely designed to cover these technological advances and discover advancing applications. With the focus now on clinical utility, find out why data analysis is the driving force that enables discovery, and is sequencing’s strategic step.

Conference Programs:

Third Annual RNA-Seq: Differential Expression in Depth

  • RNA-Seq is perhaps the most complex NGS application. The range, depth, and complexity of a human transcriptome is far from fully characterized. RNA transcripts, by nature, are moving targets, making their characterization and quantification difficult. A single RNA-Seq experiment can provide relatively unbiased sequence information for analysis of gene expression, novel transcripts, novel isoforms, alternative splice sites, allele-specific expression, cSNPs, and rare transcripts, depending on read depth. CHI’s Third Annual RNA-Sequencing: Differential Expression in Depth conference centers on NGS technical improvements providing new insights into our active genome.

Seventh Annual DNA-Seq: Advancing Clinical Applications

  • Next-generation sequencing (NGS) continues to drive the cost of generating genomic data to unprecedented lows. Opportunities for the analysis of clinically sequenced DNA are expanding, and new therapeutic strategies for personalized targeting of diseases are evolving. CHI’s DNA-Sequencing: Advancing Clinical Applications conference centers on NGS technical improvements to increase the accuracy, sensitivity and specificity of DNA to the single base pair level. As the quality of NGS data output increases, so does the analytical validity accelerating the transition into the clinic.

Fourth Annual Genomic Data Analysis: Sequencing's Strategic Step

  • Sequencing a genome is only the beginning. Multiple layers of analysis are necessary to convert raw sequence data into the understanding of gene function. The development of novel bioinformatic approaches and algorithms for assembly, alignment, and annotation continues to advance variation detection and genetic analysis. CHI’s Genomic Data Analysis: Sequencing’s Strategic Step conference convenes biological researchers, bioinformaticians, network architects, and software engineers with the goal of turning sequence data into functional knowledge.
