Nuclear Receptor Pathways to Metabolic Regulation

  June 16, 2006

Keystone Symposia, Steamboat Springs, Colorado
March 27 - April 1, 2007

The most exciting current research on nuclear receptors and metabolism takes a systems approach, utilizing functional genomics, molecular biology, and bioinformatics to understand the role of nuclear receptors in physiology and in the pathophysiology of metabolic diseases such as obesity, diabetes ,and metabolic syndrome. The major roadblocks to this research include the biological variation and technical precision of the state-of-art-measures of RNA, protein, and gene occupation by transcription factors, and the ability to accurately relate changes in nuclear receptor ligands and abundance to phenotypic changes. The goal of this meeting is to bring together investigators working on different nuclear receptors, and the regulation of different metabolic pathways, to present the latest and most exciting paradigmatic and technical breakthroughs.
