Medicare Part D

  September 13, 2005

Strategic Research Institute, Washington Marriott, 1221 22nd Street, NW, Washington DC
Nov. 17-18, 2005

On January 1, 2006 new regulations approved under the Medicare Modernization Act (MMA) are scheduled to take effect, providing prescription drug benefits to over 42 million eligible seniors. The pharmaceutical industry has had to prepare for Medicare Part D with many variables left unknown such as which plan sponsors will manage the benefit, which drugs will be on Part D formularies, and how many beneficiaries will actually enroll. There are, however, several key milestones from now until the end of the year during which key pieces of information will be disclosed by CMS.
