Assessing Human Germ Cell Mutagenesis in the Post-Genome Era: A Celebration of the Legacy of William Lawson (Bill) Russell

  June 24, 2004

The Jackson Laboratory, Bar Harbor, Maine
9/28 - 9/30/2004

Germ-cell mutagenesis research has substantially advanced our knowledge of the factors that contribute to the risk of transmissible genetic alterations associated with exposure to various agents within the environment. This Workshop will review the current state of the science in this field and explore the possibilities for using new genomic technologies to identify and study potentially deleterious germ-line mutations in humans and model mammalian systems. The Workshop will include two highly interactive discussion sessions designed to develop research recommendations for the next decade. An interactive poster session will also be included so that speakers and attendees can present their work in this forum and have additional opportunities for discussion.

Sponsored in part by: US EPA, DOE, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, NIH/NIEHS, NIH/ORD, The Environmental Mutagen Society and Lynx Therapeutics, Inc.
