The 23rd Annual Education Conference of the National Society of Genetic Counselors will provide current information about a wide range of topics pertinent to the field of genetic counseling. Plenary and concurrent sessions will allow both didactic and smaller group formats for counselors to explore and discuss emerging issues and trends, ethical issues, and research results. Genetic counselors, researchers, and health care providers will present scientific data regarding recent advances in both genetic technology and knowledge of genetic conditions. Other sessions will explore counseling issues, counseling theories, and skills that will improve the practice of genetic counseling. The conference will address all areas of traditional and non-traditional genetic counseling, such as prenatal, pediatric, adult, cancer, laboratory/industry, public health, and research.
