ETHICAL STUDENT CONFERENCE 2004 The conference is held in lovely surroundings in Aarhus, Denmark from JULY 25th to 31st. We offer an opportunity to discuss MEDICAL ETHICS in an international forum with other medical students and PhDs. The lectures will be given in English by highly recognized ethicists, philosophers, physicians, anthropologists and sociologists from different parts of the world. The conference both provides a basic introduction to medical ethics as well as a more profound discussion of specific topics, so it will be appealing to beginners as well as students with more experience in medical ethics. This year's topics are: ETHICS IN THE DOCTOR-PATIENT RELATIONSHIP, ETHICAL DILEMMAS AT THE BEGINNING OF LIFE, ETHICS AND HUMAN RIGHTS IN A GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE, EUGENICS AND ETHICS – THE ENGINEERED HUMAN BEING, ETHICS IN PSYCHIATRY. This conference is organized on a voluntary basis by 10 medical students from Aarhus University, Denmark. We are a non-profit organization, members of and endorsed by the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations, IFMSA. The economical fundament of the conference is based on fundraising, and we have raised half of the actual costs, in order to pay for the expenses.
