The Department of Biomedical Engineering, University of Malaya, Malaysia will be organising the Kuala Lumpur International Conference on Biomedical Engineering 2004 (BioMed 2004) on September 2-4, 2004. This is the second installment of international conferences conducted by the department. The conference will attract more than 250 practitioners, academicians, and providers to showcase latest innovation and breakthroughs in biomedical engineering.

The objectives of the conference are five-fold:

  • To showcase innovations in biomedical engineering
  • To provide a forum for presenting current research in biomedical engineering
  • To promote regional cooperation and interchange among universities and research institutes
  • To gather academicians and researchers in medicine and engineering to exchange ideas and experiences
  • To motivate further developments of technical industries in biomedical engineering

The 3-day conference program will include keynote addresses, plenary sessions, track sessions, and poster presentations on the selected topics. There will also be an Opening Ceremony, and an Opening Gala Dinner.
