Cambridge Heathtech Institute, Washington, DC September 10-11, 2002 Microarrays have exploded in the field of biological research. In fact, over 80 percent of laboratories using microarrays expect to increase their utilization over the next year. However, with the "boom" of the technology also comes the need for careful navigation through interpretation of the data minefield. The facilitation of adoption of standards for microarray experimental annotation, data representation, and the introduction of standard experimental controls and data normalization is critical for the resulting "boom" to be either destructive or productive. |
