ABOUT THE COURSE
This course has been developed by the nation's recognized authorities in the field of gynecology to provide an annual review of new developments for the physician who attends the female patient. As authors of the highly regarded Comprehensive Gynecology textbook, Drs. Herbst, Mishell, and Stenchever bring their unique expertise to a practical, clinically applicable format. The course is structured to provide attendees with ample opportunity for one-on-one discussion with faculty and colleagues.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Any health professional who provides primary healthcare services to the female patient will benefit from this course including Family Practitioners, General Practitioners, Gynecologists, Internists, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and Residents/Fellows.

OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of the course, it is expected that the attendee will

- have a knowledge of the new diagnostic techniques and devices now available
- be able to conduct an appropriate evaluation and recognize conditions in the female patient that may require immediate intervention including carcinomas, genital tract infections, and sexually transmitted diseases
- appreciate the new innovations in gynecologic ultrasound
- be aware of the expanded armamentarium of therapeutic alternatives
- be able to counsel patients on the most current and appropriate contraceptive alternatives as well as perform an infertility investigation in the office
- understand the issues affecting the mature patient including hormone replacement, incontinence, and osteoporosis
