BIOINFORSALUD 2000 - Bioinformatics, Genomics and Health

Spanish Society of Health Informatics , Madrid, SPAIN
27-28 January 2000

The goal of this scientific meeting (working language will be spanish) is to show the state of the art in new technologies for obtaining and analysing genetic information. There will be also a review of the impacts that these new technologies are having in biomedical research, clinical practice and the ethical, legal and social issues associated with the real application of these technologies in the healthcare system, debating the possible benefits and potential risks.

The symposium is designed as a multidisciplinar activity where the speakers will try to show a general view of the technologies and experimental approaches included in the scientific program and will transmit to the audience which are the most relevant trends and their use in the health environment (new drug research, diagnosis, public health care, basic research).
