Exploiting YEAST MOLECULAR BIOLOGY for Therapeutics | ||||
Cambridge Healthtech Institute
, Miami, Florida January 20-21, 2000 |
||||
Completion of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae genome has provided a real opportunity for developing new nonreductionist approaches to the evaluation of small molecules and their interaction with living cells in which the genome or proteome is used as the unit of function. Studies with yeast have pioneered the development of the principles and practice of genomewide analysis of gene expression patterns. Yeast has also been employed as a workhorse for recombinant studies, both for protein-protein interactions and for drug screening. This conference will highlight the latest developments in applied yeast technologies and antifungal drug discovery. |
