Application of Genomics to ANIMAL MODELS for Pharmaceutical Studies: Mice and Rats

Cambridge Healthtech Institute (CHI) , Boston, Massachusetts
October 20, 1999

Genomics is providing the pharmaceutical industry with an explosion of new potential targets, while combinatorial chemistry and high throughput screening is providing numerous initial leads. The task of validating targets, prioritizing them, and evaluating compounds can be significantly aided by advances in the application of genomics in ways that provide rapid information, comparisons and understanding. The program focuses on development involving studies with mice and rats for these applications. Gene expression studies, functional genomics, sequence databases and models for specific disorders will be featured.
