Ian R. Gecker, Consultant to the Aerosol Industry |
Ian R. Gecker is a veteran of over 50 years in the aerosol products manufacturing industry. He started his career as a product development chemist moving on to operations/technical management, executive sales, and executive management and company ownerships. He is past president of Ian Gecker and Associates, LLC serving as a consultant to the industry and specializing in product development and product reformulations to meet changing VOC regulations. Mr. Gecker holds a degree in chemistry and has authored numerous technical papers on aerosol technology and the formulation of various types of aerosol products. He has co-authored an international dissertation on “Stable Pesticide Concentrates and End Use Emulsions” used in aerosol insecticides. He holds a patent on the use of “Mixed Gas Method for Filling Aerosol Containers and Aerosol Formulas for Improved Environmental Profile by VOC/HFC Reduction”. Mr. Gecker is a founding member, past board of directors member and past president of the Western Aerosol Information Bureau, a national aerosol organization.

This course has been designed to cover the major aspects of aerosol technology and instruct you in the successful formulation of prototype aerosols for use in personal care, household, automotive and insecticide products. Lectures are designed to familiarize you with the construction, choice and use of aerosol containers, valves, actuators and propellants. Lectures will also cover the establishment of quality assurance procedures as they relate to componentry, raw materials and finished products. State and Federal regulations that directly affect aerosol products will be addressed.
