Who Should Attend?
This course is designed for professionals in the manager and director levels from varying disciplines including marketing, finance, product development, and operations within pharmaceutical, biotech, and personal care organizations.

Course Description
Life science organizations today are focusing on strategic growth, but equally focusing on supply chain excellence and robustness in order to ensure their viability and global reach. This 2-day course will address key global issues with respect to optimized global supply chain and strategies. Discussions will include the key strategies to be employed which ultimately yield improvements to the organization’s bottom-line and top-line financial results, synchronized global supply and demand management, global optimized inventory management, global logistics management, and strategic sourcing and supplier management. Key performance measurements and tactics for ensuring the health of the supply chain within your organization will be addressed. The course examines the challenges of the future for the industry and how global life science organizations will compete differently to ensure their viability. This course will explore hands on day-to-day tools and techniques used to gain a competitive advantage over competitors. Participants will face questions such as “What is our philosophy on make versus buy”, “How should we manage inventory with uncertain demand”; “What are the leading practices and implications for importing products and services across borders?”

Case examples of best-in-class companies will outline leading practices in strategic operations and global supply chain management.

   Mr. Hany Salama, MS.E., MBA, CPM, Chief Supply Chain Officer & VP of Global Quality Management, NeoStrata Company, Inc.

Mr. Hany Salama, Chief Supply Chain Officer and VP of Global Quality Management at NeoStrata Company, Inc., a dermatology company in Princeton, NJ, is a senior operations executive and strategist with over 20 years of experience in global operations for small and large chemical, pharmaceutical, and biotech companies. Mr Salama is a Supply Chain Professor at Rutgers University Graduate Business School where he holds an Advisory Board seat at the Center for the Supply Chain. Mr. Salama’s areas of expertise include: Strategic global operations and supply chain, Lean six sigma and re-engineering strategies, business development and due diligence, Mergers and acquisitions integration, Financial analysis and spend management, Quality, Project, Contract and Customer relationship management.

Mr. Salama has advised global private equity firms, venture capitalists, and operating companies on global supply chain management, lean six sigma, product launches, and global outsourcing strategies to help them implement effective supply chain management strategy. He is a graduate of Illinois Institute of Technology where he earned a Masters in Engineering. He is also certified in six sigma/lean manufacturing and holds a Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) from the Institute for Supply Management.
