 Dr. Raj Bawa, President, Bawa Biotech LLC and Adjunct Professor, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute |
Dr. Bawa is president of Bawa Biotech LLC, a biotech/pharma consultancy and patent law firm founded in 2002 and based in Ashburn, VA. He is an inventor, entrepreneur, professor and registered patent agent licensed to practice before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. Trained as a biochemist and microbiologist, he has extensive expertise in nanotechnology, pharmaceutical sciences, biotechnology, drug delivery and biodefense-related scientific, FDA regulatory and patent law issues. He is currently an adjunct professor of biological sciences at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Troy, NY), the university where he obtained his doctoral degree in three years (biophysics/biochemistry). Dr. Bawa is a scientific advisor to Teva Pharmaceutical Industries (Israel) and has served as a principal investigator of National Cancer Institute SBIRs and reviewer for both the National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation. He has authored over 100 publications, coedited four books, presented or chaired at over 200 conferences worldwide and serves on the editorial boards of 10 peer-reviewed journals. |
