Mastering an ISO 14001 EMS: A How-To Approach

  October 08, 2015

CfPA-The Center for Professional Advancement, New Brunswick, NJ
February 22-23, 2016

Who Should Attend?
This course is designed for those individuals tasked with implementing or bolstering their company’s Environmental Management System (EMS) to address management’s or stakeholders’ concerns.

This course will benefit those professionals engaged in environmental, health, safety, sustainability and quality working in various regulated industries, from chemicals to pharmaceuticals, as well as those professionals who engage with their company’s supply chain and service providers.

Specifically, this course will be of benefit to top managers and their staff, whether in EH&S or who interact with them, such as:
  • Quality
  • Procurement (especially of new chemicals)
  • R&D
  • Laboratory
  • Contract Services (security, janitorial, transportation, HVAC, construction,
     waste haulers)

Course Description
The implementation of an EMS is based on a series of one-by-one building blocks that begin with the understanding of what an ISO 14001 conforming system is all about, continuing to the individual building blocks of aspects/impacts/targets/objectives/programs/procedures/ roles/responsibilities.

In this 2-day, accredited, hands-on course, participants will run through a series of workbook exercises of a fictitious company as they work collaboratively to design their “company’s” EMS at each step of the way. Participants are free to interject their own experiences or unique situations as conditions and time allows for added take-away value.
