Description :

Have you ever had an employee disagree with their performance review, two employees argue about tasks to be done, or an employee expresses concern and frustration because they feel their direct supervisor is treating them unfairly? As any manager knows, dealing with conflict is one of the more challenging aspects of their job. Managers need to arm themselves with the tools to quickly and effectively diffuse these situations before it has an effect on morale.

Managers should not be afraid to confront and manage conflict. Unmanaged or poorly managed conflict can create a breakdown in trust and a decline in productivity. Success in business often depends on the cohesion of people and teams, loss of trust and productivity can result in under-performing teams and poor results. With a basic understanding of the strategies of managing conflict in the workplace, managers no longer have to fear handling conflict and can better deal with these situations before they deteriorate beyond repair.
