Course Description
Supply chain disruptions are one of the leading issues for life science businesses today. Impacting business continuity as well as the need to get necessary products to patients and customers, life science companies are plagued with ensuring the security and integrity of their supply chain. Adding to the complexity is the extended supply chain which spans many continents and countries as global sourcing has become more and more prevalent amongst these organizations. As organizations have extended their global reach to suppliers around the global for various strategic reasons, the notion of supplier management and the associated risk management activities become a critical element to ensure minimization of any disruptions. This 90-minute accredited training course provides an introduction and overview of all the key attributes of supplier risk management for the life science industry specifically around qualification, maintenance, and rationalization of the strategic supply base. The course will give attendees the fundamentals necessary to assess the health of their supply chain as well as tools to determine best practice relative to supplier risk management.

Mr. Hany Salama, Chief Supply Chain Officer and VP of Global Quality Management at NeoStrata Company, Inc., a dermatology company in Princeton, NJ, is a highly-regarded senior operations executive and strategist with over 20 years of experience in global operations for small and large chemical, pharmaceutical, and biotech companies. Mr. Salama’s areas of expertise include: Strategic global operations and supply chain, Lean six sigma and re-engineering strategies, business development and due diligence, Mergers and acquisitions integration, Financial analysis and spend management, Quality, Project, Contract and Customer relationship management.

Mr. Salama holds a Bachelors of Engineering in mechanical engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology, a Masters of Engineering in chemical engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology, and a Masters of Business Administration in Management and Finance from Seton Hall University. He is an adjunct faculty member at Rutgers Graduate Business School where he teaches various pharmaceutical operations courses. He is a six sigma black belt trained professional and is a Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) from the Institute for Supply Management (ISM).
