Assessment and Ofsted Lesson Criteria - An Update for Music Teachers

  December 22, 2014

Jury's Inn Exeter, Western Way, Exeter EX1 2DB, United Kingdom.
Wednesday 22nd April, 2015.

Ofsted are looking for evidence that planned learning intentions are genuinely musical and that Musical sound should be the 'target' language of the music classroom.

Music teachers therefore need to be even more aware of the impact their teaching is having on the learning experiences and the progress their pupils are making.

This course will, through a mixture of presentation, activity, guided and open discussions explore four key questions: Why we need assessment, what are we assessing, what forms of assessment are beneficial for Music, what impact does the current Ofsted observation criteria have on teaching in the Music classroom.
