Description:- Strengthening and stabilizing soil and rock masses, and resisting structural movements are achieved by anchoring via prestressed reinforcement. To withstand lateral forces, temporary tie-backs in soil are also necessary for successful construction of shallow foundations.
Ground and Rock Anchors have vast engineering applications and could be used in many projects either within the new design phase or after construction to strengthen components. Ground and Rock Anchors are important components of ground support, soil improvements, foundation underpinning, wall support and endless other applications.
Objectives:- This practical and informative course would be beneficial for practicing engineers, technicians and technologists interested in safe and economic methods for strengthening engineering structures.
The objective of this course is to provide an in depth review of design, applications and installation methods for anchoring in rock and soil.
After you attend this course you will be able to: Understand the design procedures of ground and rock anchors. Perform design for variety of different ground and rock anchors. Select the right anchors materials for the right site conditions.
Special features:- A project design workshop will be conducted under the instructor supervision, please bring in your calculator. A revision and demonstration of available commercial design software will be introduced.
Target Audience:- Practicing engineers, technicians and technologists interested in safe and economic methods for strengthening engineering structures.
This course will be of interest to a wide range of technical personnel who wish to increase their understanding of ground anchors.
Consultants, Structural engineers, Civil engineers, College and university faculty.
