Description:
This course will describe three major accidents at power plants:
1986 Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident.
2009 Sayano- Shushenskaya hydroelectric power station accident.
2011 Fukushima nuclear power plant accident.

Objective:
This course will enable participants to:
Understand the role of designers, operators in accident prevention and mitigation.
Be able to understand and use, in day-to day work, different design methods of accident prevention and accident mitigation.
Be able to prepare and develop mitigation concrete measures to prevent major accidents and to mitigate their consequences.

Target Audience:
Engineers, technicians and operators from chemical, process, power generation industries, including oil refineries, gas production companies, conventional and nuclear power plants.
Project Engineers involved in design, calculation and optimization of different types of process equipment.
Operational and Technical Service Engineers.
Regulation authorities.
