This course will present the activities, concepts, techniques, and tools of project planning and controls (scheduling and cost control) that can be applied to any project.

A project with poor planning and control is a project that is out of control. Practical Project Planning and Control training provides theoretical and practical applications of the important elements of effective project scope planning, scheduling, cost accounting and control. Scheduling and cost control are the key elements of successful project management. As part of the Triple Constraints, the schedule and cost of a project are key performance indicators regarding the success of any project. Yet, over 80% of all projects start with underestimated schedules and costs and are doomed to exceed projections before they begin.

This course is designed to provide you with a deeper level of understanding and practical tools to enhance your competency in planning and controlling your projects. This course illustrates how to plan and control a project schedule and cost, but more importantly, it shows you how to develop the project’s scope so that schedule and cost control are achievable goals. Closely aligned with the Project Management Institute’s standards and guidelines, applied Project and Planning Controls looks at the basic and advanced methods for keeping a well-planned project in control, and provides tools to help you determine the best control approach on your project.
