Ofsted Criteria and Lesson Observation for Secondary Schools

  December 18, 2014

Jury's Inn, 245 Broad Street, Birmingham B1 2HQ, United Kingdom
2015-03-26

A course to help Secondary Schools make sense of the latest 2014/15 Observation Criteria and to help ensure that their own observation judgments are in tune with Ofsted's current expectations.

This course is suitable for all senior staff and team leaders involved with classroom observation and professional development. Indeed all teaching staff will find it helpful to understand what Ofsted are looking for in an outstanding lesson and what the teacher now needs to demonstrate to achieve this.

The training session will examine: the current emphasis of inspections, how to observe lessons using Ofsted methods, how good internal classroom observation can be used to raise standards and how using a variety of teaching styles and compelling learning experiences can be linked to improving attainment and progress.

Delegates will have the opportunity to observe a range of filmed lessons and discuss and evaluate their content.
