This 90-minute accredited online training course is designed to provide students with an introduction to the main types of cleaners and their uses. It will describe the major types of cleaning product ingredients and how they can be formulated to achieve the required cleaning properties. Finally it will discuss the direction in which the industry is moving and how ingredients will need to be developed to meet future needs.

Invited Speakers: Dr Peter Smallwood; Director of Chemical Associates

Dr Peter Smallwood is the Director of Chemical Associates, a UK based independent technical and training consultancy, serving the chemical, polymer and allied industries worldwide. His expertise in surface chemistry and surfactants has proved relevant to the manufacture of polymers, chemicals used in the oil industry and in the formulation of cleaning and antibacterial products. Chemical Associates has become increasing involved with the detergents and cleaning ingredients industry. Dr. Smallwood is involved in a number of projects aimed at developing improve ingredients and formulations. He has published a number of reviews of the current and future prospects for the industry, has presented papers at international conferences and is involved in the training of industry personnel.
