This intense 90-minute accredited online training course will provide an understanding of the diverse classification of polymer chemistry. This will provide a great appreciation and basic understanding of the diverse nature of polymer science, outlining the similarities and difference between the different categories, their functionality, and how best to apply them to personal care product development.

Invited Speakers: Eric Abrutyn, retired Sr. Principal Scientist from Kao Brands and founder TPC2 Advisors Ltd., Inc., consultants to the personal care industry

Eric Abrutyn, a graduate of New York University with a Masters in Chemistry, has 42 years of experience in the personal care cosmetics industry. He is a member of the Technical Advisory Board and past-contributing editor [“Formula Deciphers”] for Cosmetics & Toiletries magazine, contributing author for SpecialChem R&D Highlights, and is a member (and past chair) of the International Nomenclature Committee (INC). An active member of the Society of Cosmetic Chemist for over 35 years, he served as Chair of Midwest and Ohio Valley chapters, Area II Director, Editor of New York Cosmetiscope, and various positions at the local and national level.

In 2009, Eric Abrutyn established a consulting firm – TPC2Advisor’s Ltd., Inc., utilizing his extensive and diverse experience to focus on supporting clientele in the areas of antiperspirant technology, siloxane technology, skin and hair care formulation, technology/marketing assessment, product labeling with emphasis on INC nomenclature and registration, and Technology Strategic planning and Ideation.

A former Principle Scientist for Kao Brands, Mr. Abrutyn was Sr. Technical Service Scientist in silicon chemistry for Dow Corning and Director of R&D of antiperspirants, esterification, spray drying, free-radical polymerization, and controlled release for Wickhen Products,. He has contributed broadly in the fields of hair care research, skin care product development & underarm product development.

Mr. Abrutyn holds over 15 patents and is contributing editor/author for 4 books. He teaches courses in siloxane technology, antiperspirant/deodorant technology, application & and product performance; and Emollient/Moisturizers/Humectant actives, and has authored many technical articles, and numerous presentations in his fields of expertise.
