April 30-May 2, 2012
Who Should Attend This seminar is intended for engineers and technicians who are actively involved with the design and/or operation of distillation equipment. It will also benefit managers, statisticians and others concerned with improving quality and productivity of any manufacturing facility that utilizes distillation equipment. The information is presented in a language that is clear and easy to understand by both the expert and the novice. Presentations are low on equations and mathematical jargon and high on examples and case-studies. Description Industry must pay close attention to the operation and control of its manufacturing processes. Today's highly competitive markets combined with increasingly sophisticated process designs have placed growing demands on process understanding and process control. In each manufacturing operation, the challenge to optimally operate chemical plants and in particular distillation operations have become more complex. This class is intended to provide a systematic overview of the fundamentals of distillation and the needed insight to operate and control distillation towers effectively. Examples and cases studies taken from chemical manufacturing and petroleum refining will be used to demonstrate and integrate the various technical and nontechnical details important to the operation and control of distillation processes. An emphasis will be placed on using process knowledge and maintaining proper context and perspective in all aspects of process operation and control.
This three day accredited program will provide an overview of the current practices used to design, operate, and control industrial distillation equipment. Basic and advanced concepts of distillation and their application to day to day operation, system analysis, and troubleshooting will be presented.
