Claim Substantiation for Clinical Studies of Cosmetic Products

  June 23, 2011

CfPA - The Center for Professional Advancement, New Brunswick, NJ
November 7-8, 2011

Who Should Attend
This course is intended for professionals in the cosmetic and personal care industry. It will be especially beneficial to those in the following fields:

  • Formulations
  • Clinical testing
  • Product design
  • Marketing
  • Regulatory

Description
The FDA and the FTC are carefully watching cosmetic products for non- substantiated misleading claims. If the claim is indeed misleading the consumer and drives to a purchase of a product that will not deliver its premise- this is an ethical matter. With the cosmetic industry striving to produce safer products, it should also further stream its scientific resources towards better testing products for their activity on the skin and provide fair translation into claims.

The scope for this 2-day accredited course is not regulatory or marketing but scientific. It is designed to address key issues in testing cosmetic ingredients and formulations. It will review a few of the misleading approaches and offer alternative improved approaches.
