Registration:

Participants must apply for acceptance into the course.  Applications by women and minorities in the life sciences are highly encouraged.

A summary of application procedure is noted below:

1. download and complete the Applicaiton Cover form (available at the above site) and submit as instructed on the form, along with your CV.

2. students, predocs and postdocs only:   your mentor/advisor must send a letter of recommendation to Nancy Place at nancy.place@jax.org

Please note:  there is no set application deadline.  Applications will be reviewed periodically on a competitive basis and participants will be accepted until the course is filled.  Early application is strongly encouraged. 

Registration fees are $700.00 for students, and $1,600.00 for all others.

Student discount requires proof of enrollment in an accredited degree program, postdoc training or medical internship.

Basic registration fee includes course materials and daily lunch during the sessions.

A limited number of scholarships are available to eligible students,including predocs and postdocs.  You must include a letter applying for a scholarship and provide an additional recommendation letter verifying financial need.  Scholarships are awarded through a reduction in registration fees.  If you are awarded a scholarship you must submit an abstract for the poster session taking place during the course. The deadline for scholarship requests and abstracts is May 1, 2008.  

To assist participants with travel expenses during the high summer tourist season, the conference office reserves a room block at a local full service hotel to provide shared double occupancy rooms at a deeply discounted rate.  Accepted participants may pay the registration and lodging fees, or just the registration fee and find their own accomodations. Shuttle Bus transportation between the room block hotel and the laboratory is provided free of charge.  Those staying elsewhere are responsible for their own local transportation costs.

Employees of pharmaceutical and biotechnology corporations that belong to our Research Affiliates Program are eligible for either a registration fee waiver or 25% reduction. Please contact Teresa Chu at teresa.chu@jax.org for more details.
