Description
The first two modules of this 11/2 hour online training course focus on the fundamentals of color measurement and dispersion, with emphasis on applying them to everyday use of pigments in decorative cosmetics. The third one centers on pearl pigments and their use in decorative cosmetics.

    Invited Speakers: Edwin B. Faulkner, Director, Cosmetics & Classical Pigments, Sun Chemical Corporation-Performance Pigments

    Mr. Edwin Faulkner holds a degree in Chemistry from Widener University and has been involved with the color industry for 35 years. He has been with Sun Chemical Corporation since 1973 and is currently Director – Cosmetics & Classical Pigments.

    During his career with Sun Chemical, Mr. Faulkner held numerous technical, manufacturing, administrative, sales and regulatory positions. His responsibilities have necessitated a travel schedule that includes North America, South America, Europe and Asia.

    Mr. Faulkner, an adjunct professor in the Masters Program in Cosmetic Science at the University of Cincinnati, is also an instructor for the Society of Cosmetic Chemists, where he serves as the color person on the “Ask the Expert” section of their website. Former Chairman of the Color Additive Committee of the Cosmetic, Toiletries and Fragrance Association (CTFA), Mr. Faulkner is currently active in the Colored Pigments Manufacturers Association (CPMA), including serving as Chairman of the Annual Conference in 2004 and 2005.

    Mr. Faulkner has written numerous articles on organic pigments, authored the Color Cosmetic Additives chapter in The Chemistry and Manufacture of Cosmetics, and has lectured on the subject in many parts of the world, including the United States, England, France, Venezuela, Chile, Japan, Holland and China.
