A number of DIA presentations in the past two years have discussed the use of data mining methodologies for uncovering potential drug-safety signals. But once you have discovered a potential safety issue, then what? There has been very little attention paid to the role of data mining in signal investigation: how to “work up” a signal to gain further information that can guide a response.
