Who Should AttendThis two-day course is designed for chemists and research scientists in the pharmaceutical industry whose job functions involve analysis and separation of enantiomers, determination of racemic mixture and the economics and applications of optically active chiral pharmaceuticals. No expertise in chiral chemistry is necessary. By the end of this course, attendees will understand methods commonly employed to analyze and to separate chiral molecules. Learning Objectives Physical and chemical properties of chiral molecules will be discussed. Attendees will learn: To recognize racemic mixture Techniques to measure percent purity of enantiomers To understand capillary electrophoresis techniques in chiral separation HPLC instrumentation To separate racemic mixture by a suitable chiral column Additionally, the economics and applications of optically active chiral pharmaceutical will be addressed. Course Description This course addresses analytical methods commonly employed to investigate racemic mixture.
