Human Genome Analysis: Genetic Analysis of Multifactorial Diseases

  January 19, 2007

Wellcome Trust Advanced Courses, Wellcome Trust Genome Campus, Hinxton, Cambridge, UK
18-24 July 2007

This Advanced Course covers statistical methods based on linkage and association used to map disease susceptibility genes, with an emphasis on family-based designs. Discussions of the methodology are complemented by practical hands-on computer exercises.

We will discuss issues of power to detect linkage, optimal study design, use of software, and proper statistical analyses. Our interactive and intensive educational program will enable one to better carry out sophisticated statistical analyses of genetic data, and will also improve one's interpretation and understanding of the results.
