How drugs work - An Introduction to Molecular Pharmacology

  November 28, 2006

University of Oxford, UK
22 - 23 March 2007

Pharmacology, the study of how chemicals interact with biological systems and in particular the actions of drugs in the body, is a subject of great medical and commercial importance.

Knowledge of the molecular mechanisms of drug action contributes not only to our understanding of basic biological processes but also to the development of therapeutic agents to modify these processes in disease.

This course will introduce pharmacological terminology (which can often be confusing) and give a clear picture of our current understanding of drug-receptor interactions.
