Short Course on Integrative Systems Pharmacology

This exciting new short course brings together leading experts in pharmacology, toxicology, physiology, genetics and genomics, to train students in several areas that are key to understanding and appreciating the importance of integrative and organ systems biology approaches to the development of safe and effective pharmaceuticals. This is an intensive two-week course for up to 36 students chosen for their outstanding research potential. Students will interact with a group of prominent pharmacologists, toxicologists, physiologists, geneticists and other biologists both from The Jackson Laboratory and other institutions. The course will be held at Highseas, the Jackson Laboratory's seaside conference center, which serves as the site both for the didactic course presentations and residential accommodations for the students and faculty. Lectures, discussions, workshops, and demonstrations will be held mornings, afternoons, and evenings for a total of approximately 100 hours of didactic and hands-on training.

Enrollment is limited to 35. Applications by women, minorities, and persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged. Modest stipends are available on a limited basis to help pre- and post-doctoral students with travel expenses. Stipend requests must be accompanied by a letter of support from the applicant's advisor. Application for admission is made by submitting:

-A specific request for travel stipend consideration if desired - please include citizenship, gender, and minority status. Travel stipends are awarded in the form of a check after the course has ended. Full registration fees must be paid in advance
