The first workshop of this series is designed to bring together researchers from biomedicine with an interest in specific protein families, and researchers from bioinformatics who analyze the evolution of proteins. Close interdisciplinary interaction on the application of bioinformatics tools (i.e. database searching, alignment, phylogeny and functional/structural analysis) to the elucidation of protein evolution shall be fostered. Protein families of special interest are ABC transporters, Serpins, Kinases, Metalloproteases and Collagens. |
