Microinjection and detection of probes in cells
  January 12, 2001

Physiology / Biophysics

European Molecular Biology Laboratory, Heidelberg, Germany
June 18-23, 2001

Preliminary Content and Topics of the Course:
The objective of the course is to teach all the different techniques and aspects of capillary microinjection, electroporation and particle transfection of cells, as well as the detection and analysis of microinjected and transfected cells in various practical experiments. The application and usage of microinjection and detection systems together with fluorescence, confocal and video microscopy will be the major part of the practicals. Current methods and experimental approaches for the use of the techniques introduced during the course in different fields of biology will be discussed and extensively practised or demonstrated in the laboratory.
