REPLIES TO PROFESSIONAL REQUESTS SHOULD BE SENT TO THE PERSON MAKING THE
REQUEST AND NOT TO HUM-MOLGEN.

1) EDS- Like diseases

Description of research work:
We are searching the gene responsible of an EDS- Like diseases with
autosomal recessive inheritance and variable expressivity, the diseases
segregates in a large family in which several consanguineous mating
occurred in the last four generations.

The clinical phenotypes are:
GROWTH : Growth parameters were normal and intelligence Too.
HEAD AND NECK : [Face] Square nasal root, Hypoplastic nasal alae
                 [Mouth] Hypodontia ( canines )
CARDIOVASCULAR : [Heart] Pulmunary stenosis
[Vascular] Tortuosity and elongation of aorta and carotid
artery abnormalities
Aortic aneurysm , Increased superficial venous
reticulum
ABDOMEN : [External features] Inguinal hernia
SKELETAL : Hypermobility of distal interphalangeal joints
SKIN : Fragile skin, Absent-mild skin hyperextensibility
LABORATORY : Karyotypes were normal.

QUESTIONS: 1) Are there families with similar symptoms

2) Congenital Ichthyiosis type II

Dear Colleague,

I have seen for genetic counselling two unrelated Italian families in which
a diagnosis of Congenital Ichthyiosis type II was made.
In each family a single patient is known at present.
We are looking for collaboration to study the mutation in these families;
in one family parental consanguineity is present.

Sincerely

3) Familial Recessive Spastic Paraplegia

We have a family with two affected sibs. Is anyone interested in receiving
samples for genetic analysis?

4) Histiocytosis

Searching for someone analyzing the genetic bases of Histiocytosis. Two
independent boys for study and familial genetic counseling.

5) Call for patients with deletions or duplications of 6p

I am working on the detailed characterisation of cases with 6p deletions
and duplications using moleclular cytogenetic techniques. If anyone is
interested in collaborating, please contact: ioannis.ragoussis@kcl.ac.uk

I'd like to invite all health care professionals with an interest in
hereditary breast and ovarian cancer to visit our organization's website
and add us to your list of resources. We are currently the only internet
based support site for women at risk of hereditary breast and ovarian
cancer. We are:
