The 2002 Database Issue of Nucleic Acids Research marks the 9th annual issue dedicated to factual biological databases. The purpose of this issue is to inform working biologists of the specialized data resources currently available. In the 2002 issue there are descriptions of 112 databases, plus a compendium of databases compiled by Dr A Baxevanis. This compendium of data includes all databases described in Nucleic Acids Research, both in this issue and previous issues, as well as selected other databases that are relevant to biologists. NAR Online contains links to all of the databases included in the compilation, as well as brief summaries of the content of each database.
