Statens Serum Institut, Denmark(SSI)is the national centre for prevention and control of infectious diseases and congenital disorders in Denmark. The Institute was founded in 1902 and rapidly gained world-wide recognition for its contribution to immunisation research and its manufacture of high-quality products. Today, SSI is one of Europe's largest research centres in microbiology, immunology and epidemiology, and is a leading public health institute in the fields of registering, monitoring, advising and implementing programmes for infectious diseases.
