Description:
Sub-Aquafarming Info Enterprises of Canada. There are plans to diverge from saltwater marine seagrass farming on land to lake or pond freshwater for purposes of "backyard" diversified farming for farmers wishing to produce or add on grass-fed only dairy milk in addition to other farming produce where it is assumed that the ecosystem of such bodies of water will be commensal with their fresh water eco-inhabitants such as fresh water fish and freshwater sea life. The so-called vertical anchored subaquaponic tower "siloes" will start from the base of the seabed or lakebed and pulleyed upward gradually as they growth through the months in superintwined tufts and continually thereafter harvested with scuba operators from surface rafters. So as not to eutrophy the lake or sea slow-releasing imbedding plant food specially formulated will be used. There will be a need to build nursery green houses to raise pre-growth plantlets and to develop botanical varieties with low-lignin for superior digestibility/nutritional performance but with accelerated qualities from natural varieties that grow luxuriantly (or trucculently) such as the towering Pacific seagrasses off the Westcoast of the USA with less aggressive varieties of much lower lignin content likely by protoplast fusion techniques and even by spontaneous mutation with marker assisted selection (MAS). Sea areas may be ideal for the large expanse offered but preferably near the shoreline with growing trends to preserve green ecosystems working together with commercial farmers who want to squeeze the most product from their terra-resources. Lakes are myriad in contrast and may be plentiful for this type of resource exploitation. But both should be qualified with limited use rather than extensive use in farming aquatic-based resources.
