Use for garden, lawn and mushroom composts production including use of woodchip and other wood derived by-products, e. g. sawdust filings, farm animal bedding, with composting in bunkered silos. Applications of compost products include urban gardening with organic farming and horticultural applications. This use is expected to facilitate conditioning of the ensiled biomass towards humic endproducts, including mineralization (+CO2, +CH4) which should present zero emissions 'fingerprint' on the environment.
Use of Anaero-Logix Tech ® for stable mineralization (+CO2, +CH4, as byproducts) of fibre & lignin in the sludge solids digestor process being developed with proprietory anaerobic ligninolytic enzymes.
Lacasse-like applications for bio-bleaching of pulp (from bagasse and wood poplar) in British Columbia, Canada, has begun.
Bioremediation of industrial municipal waste water using Anaero-Logix Tech ® for clarification and purification process; this will save costs from agents used to disinfect and flocculate (precipitate) the organics and minerals in the waste water stream (e. g. used in co-generation plants of pulp mill run turbines).
Use of anaerobic ligninolytic enzymes ensiled forages, a multi-billion dollar technological application in livestock production feeding with temperate forages, ensilo and so with straw, stover, cob and haulms in both temperate and tropical climes.
Food applications in baking, pickling, and spices to improve texturization, their sensory qualities such as aroma, and of robustness, mellowing, or piquance of flavours (as in spices) are to be further explored with a potential world-wide.
Plant breeding for food application would be with genetically bred corn for enhanced food commercial applications, i. e. lowered lignin content from native cultivars (e. g. U. S. A. and Mexico). As another e. g. of a food application: cereal grains of which the pericarp (which is milled out) and endosperm have lignified tissues would result in enhanced convenience in time, texture and flavour (i. e. a much faster popcorn/lower cooking heat, larger or jumbo size bits, a fuller-bodied, nuttier corn taste and enhanced with melted butter; packaged caramel-buttered popcorn would also enjoy the benefits of this food enhancement described here). Ultragermi-zym (R) (i. e. enzyme): Superlay Lawn Seed (R) with humic lignozyme-treated compost from fibre + organic waste and supergrass seed (speedy grow, hi-density, control pile) treated for faster germination time. The seeds are believed to be treated in situ with a grass seed + enzyme formulation (+ lignase-specific permeants) + carrier (inert, soluble) in soil, with watering. It is be determined what rate factor the seed germinates to maturity for a faster, and perhaps, greener lawn, with newer seed varieties on the market.
SKYEVIEW: The use of dual-purpose cropping (viz. energy/feed) has proven to be unsustainable as it stands with the present scenario with crops as such in Canada with straw (e. g. wheat, sorghum, oats, barley), stover (e. g. corn) vs the grain part of the plant for livestock feed, as well as in the U.S.A., with beets for sugar to ferment to ethanol vs feed protein supplements from the beet pulp, painting a scenario that dual-purpose trading in bagasse for energy fermentation to the North vs keeping the sugar for food consumption at home in the South and beets for sugar consumption in the North vs trading pulp to the South as livestock protein supplements will be feasible, between the South & North, via rail and ocean-towed barge. There is a need to look into finds for a new class of lignases for both fermentation for energy production and for post-harvest processing and as a pro-biotic for improving digestion on ligno-cellulose biomass of low quality.
SKYEVIEW: The scenario above described with, in particular, the synthesis and commercial production of cellulosic ethanol from biomass or feedstock that is ligno-cellulosic in nature from sources such as: bagasse ('Southern' areas on the globe), wheat straw, hemp, and sisal is now a new effort at Dupont Nemours Inc. using the agave plant (cf. Tequila-making) and the autochthonous-occuring spp. called Zymomonas mobilis (believed to be superior to yeasts) and cocktailed with enyme technology such as lacasses (type III-lignases) (cf. spp. such as Pischia pastoris) also being applied to so-called future generation fuel cells that can generate electrical power from sugars or glucose for that matter, as we speak. It is predicted that cellulosic ethanol is now realizable as a technology in territories and the far frontiers of Canada including the 'North' where forage exists with arable and marginal land and forestry for biomass or feedstock made from lignocellulose and dually in places in the Far North of Siberia in the Soviet Far East so that a biomass-driven economy replete with pipeline technology and transportation and new Mag-Lev technology for trans-Siberian and trans-Canada conveyance of people and cargo can supply vital energy, supplies, jobs, export income, trade and the launch of a mainland called a unit Bio-Industries Hub. In the 'South', we expect bagasse to be used for this generational use of cellulosic ethanol and in toto this will ease the pain of trading in feed concentrates for livestock, also whatever shortfalls there are in sugar production as a commodity traded for energy biofermentation to ethanol will also be eased by conversion to second generation cellulosic ethanol production.
SKYEVIEW: The whole contention of a new spectacular techno-landscape occurring in the FHTM and RHTM , an ocean apart (the Pacific) and on two mainlands (Fraser Valley Lower Mainland, British Columbia CANADA & Soviet Far East, and yet to be developed) supposedly to be supported with infrastructure and driven by biomass-based technologies including alternative energy sources should be supported by trade in information, expertise, immigration (labour, professional skills & investments), trade of commodities (goods and services), including R&D, although others have argued that categorically, strategically labelled research that is “commercially valuable”, or even further to this “classifiable" in nature, so-to-speak, can be more successfully regulated in terms of saleability by vendor at source and introduced into their markets overseas through licensing and regulatory bodies as with the RHTM. It is predicted that the Chinese and their “rapacious” rate of progress on new fronts due to their natural curiousity and openness to cooperativity and networking or collaboration in research areas when given the proper funding and administrative oversight as with any emerging developing country would be a major player in the RHTM of the Russian Far East and Asia. It is predicted that the FHTM will counter with immigration control and investment procedures in their lower mainland hub or territory. Both territories have to iron out numerous problems with infrastructure, housing, utilities, communications, transportation, etc. and other strategic needs such as regulatory (e. g. health), pharmacare and medicare, food security, education and training infrastructure. There is no indication at best that head-to-head the East will take over the West in the future battle of the “Titans”. There is a strong indication that there will be all kinds of what we call unit Bio-Industries Hubs on the Western half of the continent, strung down the West Coast, not just in upper Canada and across the Prairie provinces, as insiders in Canada might see it.
