Prokazyme is owned by Rafarta ehf and it develops enzymes from the natural diversity of various extreme environments specializing in geothermal microbial ecosystems in Iceland through exploitations of the genomes of thermophilic bacteria and bacteriophages. The company has various collaborations with other research-oriented companies and academic institutions, it is active in several research consortia in EU-funded collaborative research projects and is offering academic cooperation agreements for marketing of enzymes developed by the academic partners.
