Description:
Knowledge Updates (KU), a new MIT Professional Education Programs (PEP) initiative, offer clear, concise overviews of specialized topics in breakthrough fields such as biomaterials or DNA sequencing. KUs are designed to share MIT faculty insights that have industry impact with busy professionals, academics, and corporations. KUs build on MIT's pioneering strengths in multidisciplinary engineering and science. Each KU delivers concentrated knowledge that reflects the Institute's best research and teaching. The initial series focuses on critical topics in bioengineering where MIT leads the world in contributions from metabolic engineering to growing organs on silicon chips. Subsequent topics will draw on new research in engineering systems, information engineering, nanotechnologies, and energy. Each Knowledge Update includes a video, supporting articles, and key industry information. The KUs, delivered on CD or via intranet, provide an easy-to-navigate digital format to help professionals gain a fast, high-level understanding or explore the topic over time.
