I have been looking after a case with TypeIIa hyperlipoproteinemia. The index case is 21 years old and she has been on diet regimen with cholestyramine and other drugs to reduce the level of Cholesterol. The lowest level that we achieved was ~500 mg/dl. Her two brothers died at teen ages of cardiac complications of the disease. The patient is asking if there are any other curative treatment (even a trial one).
