Over the holidays, AnaSpec partnered with the Alameda County Community Food Bank to collect food for community members in need. AnaSpec is pleased to announce that AnaSpec employees collected ninety pounds of food.

Theresa Maldonado, AnaSpec’s organizer, stated, “I would like to thank all the employees at AnaSpec who helped contribute the 90 lbs of food for the Alameda County Community Food Bank this Holiday Season. It feels great to be able to help the people in our communities.”

About Alameda County Community Food Bank

The Alameda County Community Food Bank has been in business since 1985 … with a vision toward a day when we can go out of business. As Alameda County's central clearinghouse for donated food, the Food Bank will distribute 18.2 million pounds of food in 2009 – including 7.6 million pounds of farm-fresh produce. Since moving into our permanent facility by the Oakland Airport in 2005, the Food Bank has ramped up distribution of fresh fruits and vegetables by a factor of 633%.

Through a network of 275 strategically placed member agencies – food pantries, soup kitchens, child-care centers, senior centers, after-school programs and other community-based organizations – the Food Bank distributes enough food for 300,000 meals weekly.
