Shanghai, China, Dec 15 2008 Viwit Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Viwit) announced the increase in production capacity of (R)-Methyl Oxazaborolidine, or (R)-MeCBS, or (R)-2-Methyl-CBS-oxazaborolidine in Toluene (CAS # 112022-83-0) and (S)-Methyl Oxazaborolidine, or (S)-MeCBS, or (S)-2-Methyl-CBS-oxazaborolidine in Toluene (CAS # 112022-81 -8). Viwit current production capacity reaches 3,500 kgs per year, and further capacity increase is also under preparation. MeCBS reagents are used as a catalyst for catalytic asymmetric reduction of ketones. This technology is an excellent tool for the synthesis of chiral alcohol in high enantiomeric excess, and is used in the synthesis of more than a dozen of high potency APIs such as Ezetimibe, Aprepitant, Fosaprepitant and Luliconazole.
